ABOUT ABOUT

In 2013, Carlos Beltran was awarded the Roberto Clemente award, which recognizes Major League Baseball's top humanitarian.  Carlos was a recipient of this award because he founded the Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy (CBBA) in his home country, Puerto Rico. He created the CBBA as a means of giving children the educational opportunities that he did not have growing up in Puerto Rico. The Beltran’s invested their own resources towards building the academy and created the Carlos Beltran Foundation to generate fundraising opportunities both in the US and in Puerto Rico to help subsidize the costs of running the academy.  For the past five years, the Beltran’s have provided scholarships for lower income minority high school students to attend colleges in the U.S. This year, Carlos will be selecting local students in Houston to award scholarships.

The Carlos Beltran’s Annual “A Night in Old San Juan” 2017 will benefit the Carlos Beltran Foundation (501c3), which is a non-profit organization that aims to provide students with a dynamic learning experience where young people can develop and enhance their scholastic and athletic abilities.
